QC United Scholarships

1) The Swing into Education Scholarship
Swing into Education Scholarships are awarded to multiple graduating high school seniors each year who are planning to attend one of the following colleges: Black Hawk College, St. Ambrose University or Scott Community College. Eligible recipients must have attended one of these Quad City High Schools: Davenport Central, Davenport Mid City, Davenport North, Davenport West, Moline High, Rocky High or United Township HS.

This is a matching-fund scholarship; meaning that the Pete the Purple Bull Program has formed partnerships with the above identified colleges and that each of these schools has agreed to provide matching funds for one or more years. The total value of these scholarships range from $1000 to $4000. The scholarship amount awarded is determined by the Board of the Pete the Purple Bull Program (an entity of QC United) and is based on available funds raised at the Annual Swing into Education Golf Tournament that occurs the 3rd Friday each June.

This is a matching-fund scholarship; meaning that QC United has formed partnerships with the above identified schools and that each of these schools has agreed to provide matching funds for one or more years. (For example, a student who is awarded a $400 scholarship from QC United will also receive at least $400 from one of the schools listed above).

2) The Reece Morgan Scholarship
The Reece Morgan Scholarship is also offered by the Pete the Purple Bull Program on an annual basis and was created in honor of Coach Reece Morgan, a man who mentored many at-risk youth in the Quad Cities area and encouraging them to pursue higher education. This scholarship focuses on student academics as well as volunteerism and community service. Recipients must have attended one of these Quad City High Schools: Davenport Central, Davenport Mid City, Davenport North, Davenport West, Moline High, Rocky High or United Township HS.

One or two of these scholarships are awarded each year for $500 to $700 each.
