Judy Nelson Memorial (CTE) Scholarship
This scholarship was created in April 1995 by Molly Jungk, 1995 Outstanding Staff Member, through the use of the award stipend. Upon Judy Nelson’s death, a memorial fund was established by Judy’s family, friends, and colleagues. Judy was a dedicated staff member at Scott Community College and always performed her job with the student foremost in mind. She was a caring, nurturing, and encouraging person who went out of her way to be helpful. The award recipient should be the person who most reflects Judy’s memory.
Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:
- Are a second year student enrolled in one of the following Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs: American Sign Language Interpreting, Automotive Tech., Culinary Arts, Diesel Tech., Early Childhood Education, Emergency Medical Services, Engineering Technology, Environmental, Health, & Safety, Information Technology, Supply Chain & Logistics, Renewable Energy, Technical Studies (Additive Manufacturing, CNC Machining, or Welding)
- Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Demonstrate unmet financial need
- Show volunteerism and/or involvement in school, community, or other organizations
Scholarship Use
This scholarship award is split evenly between the Fall 2025 and the Spring 2026 semesters.
Scholarship awards will be applied to your tuition, books, and fees first. For more information on how to use your remaining scholarship dollars, please reach out to the SCC Foundation. Any rollover dollars must be used by the end of the Spring 2026 semester. SCC Foundation scholarships are non-transferable.
