Ellis Vetter Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the SCC Foundation in honor of Ellis Vetter, one of the original EICC Board of Trustees who began his voluntary service to the District in 1966. While on the board he served as president for two terms and represented the district on the national board of Association of Community College Trustees and the state Trustees Association. In 1989, he was recognized as the first recipient of the Alcoa Leadership Award, which is bestowed by Alcoa and the Scott Community College Foundation in recognition of out-standing leadership and service. Ellis passed away in 1990 leaving behind a lasting legacy of support for higher education and his community.

Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Are children of a farm family
  • Are a rural resident
  • Live in the Calamus, Wheatland, or Lost Nation area
  • Demonstrate academic promise
  • Show financial need

Scholarship Use
This scholarship is awarded for the Fall 2025 semester.
Scholarship awards will be applied to your tuition, books, and fees first. For more information on how to use your remaining scholarship dollars, please reach out to the SCC Foundation. Any rollover dollars must be used by the end of the Spring 2026 semester. SCC Foundation scholarships are non-transferable.
