Interpreter Training Program Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2012 by Harold “Buddy” & Elizabeth Huntley in support of the Interpreter Training Program (ITP). Elizabeth began teaching American Sign Language – English Interpreting at Scott Community College in 1995. Both Buddy and Elizabeth have a deep compassion for this program, the students and the Deaf community.

Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed 24 credit hours in the American Sign Language (ASL) – English Interpreting Program
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 of greater
  • Provide one reference from an instructor in the ASL Program at Scott Community College
  • Are involved in the college’s ITP club and the Deaf community

Scholarship Use
This scholarship award is for the 2025 spring semester.
The scholarship award will go towards your tuition costs first, with the remaining amount available for you to use towards books and/or supplies. To use any remaining dollars for tools, you will need to work with the SCC Foundation Office. Any rollover dollars must be used by the end of the spring semester.
