Timothy A. Burger Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Lysa Hegland, SCC Foundation Director and the proud daughter of Timothy (Tim) A. Burger. Tim was a Biological Science Lab Assistant and Logistics instructor for Scott Community College for more than ten years. Prior to that he worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and he served in the military during the Vietnam War. He was a hard worker who gave his all to his work and others. These qualities can easily be seen in both Lysa and her sister Krystal-Lyn, who is also an instructor at the college. Throughout his life Tim was committed to serving and helping others. It is fitting that his legacy includes scholarship support for deserving students at Scott Community College.

Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Are a Veteran
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or greater

Scholarship Use
This scholarship award is for the 2025 spring semester.
The scholarship award will go towards your tuition costs first, with the remaining amount available for you to use towards books and/or supplies. To use any remaining dollars for tools, you will need to work with the SCC Foundation Office. Any rollover dollars must be used by the end of the spring semester.
