Alvin C. Tingle Memorial Scholarship
The Alvin C. Tingle Memorial Scholarship was established at Scott Community College in 2015 in memory of Alvin Tingle a 1976 graduate of United Township High School. Alvin’s passion for food and recipe creations led him to a successful career in the culinary arts field. Alvin believed in supporting his community and especially its youth. This scholarship is an extension of his efforts.
Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:
- Are enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more) in the Culinary Arts program
- Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Demonstrate financial need
Scholarship Use
This scholarship award is split evenly between the Fall 2025 and the Spring 2026 semesters.
Scholarship awards will be applied to your tuition, books, and fees first. For more information on how to use your remaining scholarship dollars, please reach out to the SCC Foundation. Any rollover dollars must be used by the end of the Spring 2026 semester. SCC Foundation scholarships are non-transferable.
