Quad City Regional Auto Show Scholarhips

Each year at least one scholarship will be awarded to an individual planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university.

REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Applicant must attend or plan to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university.
  • Applicant will have a (step)parent, guardian, or (step)grandparent working “full time” at a new car dealership for more than one year or the applicant has been working “full or part time” at a new car dealership for more than one year located within the counties listed.
  • Applicant must not have previously received an Auto Show Scholarship.
  • Criteria to be considered include, but are not limited to, the applicant’s participation in extracurricular activities, community service, work experience, and academic achievement. Academic achievement is secondary to the essay, school activities, community activities and work history.
  • Two letters of recommendation are required: one from someone employed at the sponsoring dealership (preferably an owner, or general manager of the dealership) and the second from a reference of the applicant’s choosing. SCHOLARSHIP RESIDENCY QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOTH SCHOLARSHIPS:
Residency in the Illinois counties ofBureau, Carroll, Henderson, Henry, Jo Davies, Knox, Mercer, Rock Island, Warren and Whiteside, and the Iowa counties of Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry, Jackson, Louisa, Muscatine and Scott.
