Mount St. Clare Charitable Education Trust

Multiple scholarships are available.

The scholarships are awarded by the Mount St. Clare Charitable Education Trust, Clinton National Bank, Trustee. There are several requirements for your application to be considered for a scholarship award.

Below is a list of general criteria:

  • Student has or will graduate from a high school located in either Clinton County, Iowa, or Whiteside County, Illinois
  • Student currently attends or will attend a 2 or 4-year university or college within the State of Iowa
  • Preference will be given to those attending a Catholic post-secondary institution or attending a community college located in Clinton County, Iowa
  • Awards are made on an annual basis. Recipients may reapply in subsequent years.

Complete the paper application form (“Found Here” :https://www.clintonnational.com/uploads/userfiles/files/documents/MSC%20Scholarship%20Application%20and%20Instructions%202024-25%20FILLABLE.pdf) and return a hard copy of the application by the due date.

  • Neither applications received or postmarked after the due date nor incomplete applications will be considered for a scholarship award.
  • Review and complete the checklist at the end of the application.
  • Provide a copy of your letter of acceptance if you have not yet started post-secondary classes or a copy of a current college transcript if you are already attending college.
  • Indicate which scholarships you are applying for, listed on the attached application form.
  • If the additional requirements include showing financial need, submit a copy of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) summary showing your Student Aid Index (SAI) score.
  • We do not need any family income information. You may submit evidence of the FAFSA SAI score for any scholarship, not just those with the criteria of financial need.
  • All information provided will be confidential, shared with members of a scholarship selection committee appointed by the trustee, and retained by the trustee for regulatory compliance purposes.
  • All scholarships will be paid to the post-secondary institution you attend for credit to your student account. Some scholarships may be granted to multiple recipients from the available scholarship amount each year. Payment is anticipated to be made in October. If you do not complete the 2024-25 year at an Iowa college, any excess funds awarded are to be returned. Awards are made on an annual basis. Recipients may reapply in subsequent years
