Interpreter Training Program Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2012 by Harold “Buddy” & Elizabeth Huntley in support of the Interpreter Training Program (ITP). Elizabeth began teaching American Sign Language – English Interpreting at Scott Community College in 1995. Both Buddy and Elizabeth have a deep compassion for this program, the students and the Deaf community.
Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:
- Have completed 24 credit hours in the American Sign Language (ASL) – English Interpreting Program
- Have a GPA of 3.0 of greater
- Provide one reference from an instructor in the ASL Program at Scott Community College
- Are involved in the college’s ITP club and the Deaf community
