A Former Scott Community College Nursing Student

The Flower Force Scholarship was established in 2019 by a former Scott Community College (SCC) Nursing student. After moving back to the Quad Cities, she was inspired by a sculpture titled “Sunflowers,” located in Faye’s Field near the Bettendorf Library. This public artwork was made by a group of SCC students in the Welding and Auto Collision Repair programs. The sculpture’s concept of taking something broken and creating something beautiful led this scholarship’s donor to enroll in SCC’s Nursing Program. To this day, she continues to be inspired by the sculpture and enjoys delivering flowers to patients – in the hope of bringing smiles to their faces. With this scholarship, she encourages current students in the program to strive for excellence in the Nursing field.
