Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA)
WIOA Youth Program seeks to provide young people, who face significant barriers, in making a successful transition to self-sufficient adulthood by successfully entering and being retained in the workforce, higher education, or advanced training. Providing customer-centered, high quality services to enhance their skill sets and likelihood of gaining meaningful employment.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program for Region 9 is coordinated by Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. Services are provided at the IowaWORKS office, 902 W. Kimberly Rd., Davenport IA, and at four county offices in Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Scott Counties. The program’s focus is on skilled employment. The WIOA program is one of many service providers in the IowaWORKS One Stop office who work collaboratively to help individuals become self-sufficient and reach employment goals.
WIOA is an employment program and students must apply prior to enrollment in training/school.
