ALCOA Scholarship

This scholarship was established by ALCOA in 2013 to support IA-Quad Cities high school students planning to attend Scott Community College.

Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Are an incoming high school senior from one of the following IA-Quad Cities high schools: Pleasant Valley, Bettendorf, Davenport North, Davenport West, Davenport Central, North Scott, Kimberly Center/Mid-City and Assumption
  • Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Are enrolled in an Associate of Applied Sciences Program: Accounting Management, Administrative Office Support, Auto Collision Repair, Auto Technology, Business Management, CAD/PRO Engineer, Cancer Information Management, CNC/Machining, Culinary Arts, Dental Hygiene, Diesel Technology, Early Childhood Education, Electroneurodiagnostics Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Engineering Technology, Environmental, Health, and Safety, Game Development, Health Information Technology, HVAC, Information Technology, Interpreter Training, Logistics, Pre-Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiological Technician, Respiratory Care, Software Development, Technical Studies or Welding
  • Demonstrate a strong community commitment to the Quad Cities through volunteer service and/or community activities
  • Demonstrate unmet financial need.

Scholarship Use
This scholarship award is for the fall semester.

This scholarship award can be used for tuition, books, and any program supplies, tools, or classroom materials. The award will go towards your tuition costs first, with any remaining amount available for you to use for books and tools. To use the remaining dollars for books, you will need to work with the Financial Aid Office. To use your remaining dollars for tools, you will need to work with the Foundation Office.
