Allan J. MacDonald Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship fund was established by Alice Nielsen, Humanities instructor, in memory of Allan J. MacDonald, former college employee who taught elementary school and who directed the SCC library. Students eligible for this scholarship must have maintained a 3.0 GPA, either at the college level, or if they are recent high school graduates, their high school transcript must reflect a cumulative 3.0, nontraditional students as well as those just coming to SCC from high school are eligible to apply. First preference is given to students who plan to enter the elementary education field and who have declared Education as their program concentration. Second preference is given to students who indicate in the scholarship application essay that they plan to continue their education as library science majors. Preference is also to be given to male students. The recipient is expected to meet with the donor once per semester.
